Machel Baker tallied three points and scored to put the match away with 3:25 remaining in regulation as Quinnipiac shut out Siena Soccer 2-0 in Hamden, Conn. Freshman keeper Josh Weiss made three saves in a losing effort for the Saints.

Siena (9-7-1, 4-3-1) held edges in both shots (10-7) and corners (5-1) but could not beat Quinnipiac (8-4-4, 5-0-3) keeper Borja Angoitia who made five saves to post the clean sheet.

Raphael Carvalho (26’) and Baker (87’) both scored for the defending MAAC Champion Bobcats which ran their unbeaten streak to 10 (7-0-3) while clinching a conference tournament berth.

Junior Rosero and Alex Portela paced the Saints with three targets apiece, while Nils Weddig led the way with two shots on goal.

Siena now returns home for its final two regular season matches where they are undefeated this fall (5-0-1) as they look to work towards a MAAC Tournament berth. The Saints host defending MAAC Co-Regular Season Champion Monmouth Saturday at 1 p.m. Prior to kickoff, the Saints will honor the program’s seniors in a special Senior Day ceremony.
