Rangers Fall to Mines 1-0 in NCAA Tournament First Round
DALLAS, Texas: Regis University women's soccer finished out the 2012 season with a 1-0 first round loss in the NCAA tournament to Colorado School of Mines.
The Rangers outshot the Orediggers 17-10, but a goal off a corner kick in the second minute of play by Mines put them ahead of Regis for the duration of the match.
Regis fought hard throughout, seeing some close attempts at the goal from seniorsMarissa Davis and Erin Kettmann, juniors Meghan Stuart and Rachel McMahon and freshman Sid Otto. No goals however as the Orediggers amped up their defense to stop the Rangers.
Junior Ellen Augsburger and freshman Brianna Randall split time in goal, Augsburger earning two saves on the day.
The Rangers end 2012 going 13-6-2 overall with an RMAC regular season title under their belt.
The 2012 seniors will graduate with a tremendous career from Regis women's soccer: four NCAA appearances and three RMAC championships to their name.
