Rangers Garner Six All-RMAC; Maybin and Kelly to First, McCall as RMAC Coach of the Year

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.:  Regis men's soccer earned six All-RMAC team accolades this year, and head coach Tony McCall was named RMAC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Senior Mark Kelly and junior Martin Maybin earned first team honors, while juniorArnthor Kristinsson and freshman Brian Strasbaugh earned second team and seniorGarrett Seitz and freshman Joe Terry were named third team.

Both Kelly and Maybin rank nationally and in the RMAC in many separate categories.

Maybin is first in the RMAC in assists per game (0.56) and total assists (9), and second in the RMAC in goals per game (1.00), points per game (2.56), total goals (14) and total points (41).  He ranks seventh in the nation with goals per game, points per game and total goals, fifth in total points, 10^th in total assists and 14^th in assists per game.

So far this season, Belfast, Northern Ireland native Maybin has snagged five game-winning goals, while posting a .613 shot on goal percentage after putting 38 shots on goal in 62 total shots.  He has been successful on 3-of-4 penalty kick attempts.

Kelly ranks third across the board in the RMAC in all the same categories and top 25 nationally in assists per game (.50), goals per game (.81), points per game (2.13), total assists (8), total goals (13) and total points (34).

The senior forward originally from Antrim, Northern Ireland, was recently named Academic All-RMAC First Team as well as Academic Player of the Year.  In October, he earned Offensive Player of the Week twice and he also garnered CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District First Team status

On second team, Kristinsson and Strasbaugh earned the honors, the former as a defender and the latter as a midfielder.

Kristinsson earned five goals and three assists for 13 points this year for Regis.  He snagged one game-winner and put 15 of his 26 shots on goal for a .577 shot on goal percentage.  The Akranes, Ireland native was just as strong defensively for the Rangers as offensively, helping RU to 1.57 goals against average and three shutouts.

Strasbaugh was an asset both offensively and defensively as well, helping RU with one assist on the season and keeping opponents to roughly 12 shots per game total.  He set many things up for the Rangers offensively and kept possession primarily with Regis.

Defenders Seitz and Terry were named third team for the Rangers.

Seitz kept the opposition to six shots on goal per game, while posting a huge assist against Metro State to help the Rangers to their first goal in their 4-2 victory to take their second back-to-back RMAC championship title.  He was also named CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District First Team as well as All-RMAC First Team.

Terry kept Ranger opponents to 24 goals throughout 2013 in 15 matches played.  He held RU to 1.57 goals against and three shutouts during the season.  The freshman also snagged a goal in the 2-0 victory over Adams State on the road.

Regis hosts the RMAC Tournament again this year, playing their first match on Fri., Nov. 8 at 2:00 p.m. on the Regis Match Pitch.  The Rangers will play the winner of Wednesday's match between #4 Metro State and #5 Fort Lewis College.
