Jenna Wilt (9’), Tayla Wheeler (10’), and Catie McDonald (25’ – PK) all scored for Colorado College (2-0). Molly Hiniker made five saves for the Tigers which improved to 10-1-1 over their last 12 matches at Washburn Field.
Alfonzo got Siena (0-2) on the board in the 27th minute following a wild sequence. Jayanna Monds broke in down the left side and hit the far post. On the ensuing rebound, Emily McNelis eventually controlled possession and played the ball back to the oncoming Alfonzo who fired home a blast from 30 yards out.
The Saints controlled possession for the majority of the second half, but were unable to gain any ground. Taylor Dorado stopped six shots for the Saints who were out-shot 15-11. Colorado College also held a 9-5 advantage in corners.
Siena will make the journey back east to prepare for their Empire State debut Thursday at ACC foe Syracuse at 6 p.m.
