Patten first joined the club when she was 12 years old, debuting for the first team at the age of 16. She joined FSU ahead of the 2017 college season, making 41 appearances and winning the national championship with the Seminoles in 2018. After transferring to South Carolina, making 32 appearances in two seasons for the SEC side.
“It's such an amazing feeling,” Patten told arsenal.com. “Obviously I've been at the club since I was 12, so to be back and be able to fully sign for the team really is like a dream come true.”
Lotte Wubben-Moy also re-signed with Arsenal in the fall, although the former North Carolina defender had decided to skip the shortened fall 2020 campaign.
