TDS Women's DI Top 25: February 2
After a long wait, the first full TDS Women's Division I Top 25 rankings are here.
With a spring march towards a championship starting for several programs this week, TDS is putting out a rankings that covers programs that played in the fall and the rest that are set to compete for the first time during a 2020-21 season.
ACC tournament champions Florida State debut as the No. 1 team, after finishing atop the fall power rankings after capturing the title in the fall. The Seminoles haven't announced a spring slate of games yet, but like other ACC teams, are likely to play a non-conference schedule in preparation for the NCAA tournament.
North Carolina follows suit at No. 2, despite the loss of a couple of key players to the NWSL. Stanford and UCLA sit at No. 3 and No. 4, as the former lost star forward Catarina Macario to the professional ranks. Naomi Girma also tore her ACL this fall. The Bruins are slated to have a full roster at their disposal, even in the wake of the NWSL Draft.
SEC tournament champions Vanderbilt round out the top 5. Games are set to begin this week in some conferences around the country. Weekly updates to the Top 25 will be revealed every Monday.
