HS: State, region rankings, March 14
There are new No. 1s in Texas girls, California boys and girls soccer, and it will lead to some significant changes for Tuesday's winter season SIMA FAB 50s. Meanwhile, things were rather status quo in the early goings of the high school spring season.
WINTER NEWS
San Ramon Valley (Danville, Calif.) rises to No. 1 in California girls, while Loyola (Los Angeles, Calif.) boys move to the top of the state rankings following the final week of California high school play.
The big news for the week was an upset loss by Byron Nelson (Trophy Club, Texas) means a new No. 1 in Texas and the SIMA FAB 50 girls rankings.

SPRING NEWS
Oak Mountain (Birmingham, Ala.) edged Brookwood (Snellville, Ga.) in a SIMA FAB 50 boys clash last week, reinforcing Oak Mountain's Top 20 national billing. Brookwood was at the bottom of the Top 25.
On the girls side, the top-ranked 4A and 3A teams in North Carolina clashed -- and the result was a tie, which will leave the teams ranked next to each other on the state, region and national levels.
