Boys teams at Ponte Vedra (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) and Belen Jesuit (Miami, Fla.) capped undefeated seasons with state titles over the weekend, highlighting a strong showing of the nation's elite winter teams.

The SIMA FAB 50 Top 25 boys and girls teams combined for a 56-5-8 week.

The net result for the rankings is few changes of teams and only slight movement in the order.

All seven state and eight region No. 1 boys teams hel their positions. On the girls side, former No. 2 teams inherit region No. 1 rankings in Texas-South and the West regions. Arizona was the only state where the No. 1 position changed hands this week.

BOYS

Arizona and Florida completed winter season play last week, and in addition to Ponte Vedra and Belen Jesuit -- both pre-event favorites -- winning titles, Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.), the Division I favorite, brought home a championship trophy. All three teams have been Top 25 fixtures this season, and will secure lofty national rankings now that their seasons are finished.

Cathedral (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Paramount (Paramount, Calif.) wrapped up regular-season play last week and the California-South Nos. 1 and 2 teams will be favorites in the upcoming CIF Southern Section tournaments.

GIRLS

Last week, Round Rock (Round Rock, Texas) defeated Top 25-ranked [Westwood tx-w] (Round Rock, Texas) and tied previous No. 3 Hendrickson (Pflugerville, Texas) to cause quite a bit of turnover in both the Texas-South and Texas state rankings.
