Powers ebb and rise in NSCAA boys update
The second weekly NSCAA regional rankings update is here, and with it comes the first shakeup of the eight boys regional polls and the six girls polls. After both national polls got new No. 1s this week, it's understood that the more fragmentary regional rankings endured their own inner storms as well.
For the boys, here are breakdowns of each of the eight regions and some of the most interesting movements of each.

Region I
After getting a pass in last week's initial regional rank, Region I enters the fray for the first time this week. As a result, a handful of teams made their debuts in the national poll. Namely Connecticut power Norwalk, which debuted at No. 8 nationally and is New England's top boys team.

2. Farmington (Farmington, Conn.)
3. LaSalle Academy (Providence, R.I.)

10. Falmouth (Falmouth, Maine)
Region II
With one huge exception, New York's Region II observed the status quo in Week 2. Arlington, Martin Luther King Jr. and Brentwood all maintained their spots as the respective top three, as the latter two have yet to play a game. But Melville power St. Anthony's dropped a season-opening stunner to Seton Hall Prep (West Orange, N.J.) in double overtime last week to tumble from No. 4 to No 12. Webster Schroeder, which is off to a hot 2-0-0 start, moved into the No. 4 slot.

Region III
St. Benedict's fans might have been surprised to see the national poll this week, as the Gray Bees fell from No. 1 to No. 6 despite opening 3-0-0. No such issue in Region III, which has St. Benedict's as its firm No. 1 after snapping its own state record for consecutive victories with 57 over the weekend.

Region IV
No question here who reigns Region IV this week. DeMatha elbowed into the No. 1 national spot on Tuesday, meaning they rule a very good region with an iron fist through at least another weekend of games. Wesleyan Christian, which started 10-0-0, is off to the best start in the country thus far.

St. Louis power Christian Brothers held onto its top spot, but turmoil behind them churned up the top three. St. Charles East fell from No. 2 to No. 6 after a draw, while former No. 3 Chaminade dropped out of the top 15 completely.
