2011 NCAA ODP Boys Interregional concludes

The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Boys NCAA Interregional concluded today with the 1994 and 1995 age groups competing alongside the Men's NCAA Division I Final Four in Vestavia, Ala.
 
Continuing its tradition of elite play, competition and player development, youth from the nation's premier player identification and development program, US Youth Soccer ODP, trained and competed in front of U.S. National Team staff, professional and collegiate coaches to maximize their exposure for selection to the next level of play. More US Youth Soccer ODP players have been called into Youth National Team camps than any other ID program, including 129 of 148 players called into U-14, U-15, U-17 and U-18 camps since September 2011.
 
GAME SUMMARIES
 
1994
Region IV took a 1-0 lead into half off a 31st-minute strike by Matt Arbogast, his second of the tournament. Matthew Bolduc would equalize for Region I with a goal in the 46th minute and the game ended all tied up at 1.

Region II earned an early lead over Region III with a goal by Daniel Szczepanek. Branden McGarrity doubled the advantage with an uncontested finish from 14 years out in the 33rd. Goals in the 47th and 53rd minutes for McGarrity completed the hat trick on the day and secured the 4-0 victory for Region II.

1995
Goals aplenty marked the game between Region I and Region IV. Dale Ludwig opened the scoring as he finished a free kick with a low, driving header for Region I. Joseph Iraola struck again for Region I in the 37th, but Region IV would level before half. Ian Boozer pulled the first back in the 39th with a beautiful finish to the upper 90 leaving the keeper no chance for a save. Just a minute later, Dominic Chavez found the net for Region IV. Not to be denied victory, Region I pulled away in the second half with strikes from Sebastian Palomino and Peter Pearson in the 67th and 74th minutes. Pearson ended the week as the group's leading scorer.

Region II and Region III battled scoreless for 68 minutes until Brock Fitzgerald scored the lone goal, his second of the tournament, lifting Region II to the 1-0 victory.
