BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior forward Dion Acoff scored in the 42nd minute for the fifth-ranked Creighton men's soccer team and the top defensive team in the NCAA proved its worth by holding on for a 1-0 win at 10th-ranked Indiana Sunday afternoon at Armstrong Stadium.  Brian Holt made four saves in goal for the victorious visitors, as Creighton logged its ninth clean sheet in 11 matches this season.

The win moves Creighton to 10-1-0 on the year, while the loss was Indiana's third straight, dropping the Hoosiers to 6-3-2 on the season.  The Bluejays are now 2-1-0 against top 25 opponents this year and improve to 20-2-7 in regular-season road matches since 2007.

The Bluejays came out aggressive, with All-American Ethan Finlay putting a header on goal in the fifth minute, which a Hoosier defender had to clear off the line to keep it from going across.  Not 30 seconds later, Luis Soffner made his first save of the day in goal for IU, stopping a Bruno Castro shot.

Creighton took eight of the first 10 shots in the match before finally denting the scoring column late in the half.  Acoff's third shot of the first half beat Soffner after it deflected off of an IU defender.  His second goal of the season was his second in as many games against a Big Ten foe this week, and it came from just inside the top of the box.  The score was set up on a great run and possession from sophomore defender Tyler Polak, who was credited with his fourth assist of the season on what proved to be the only goal of the match.

The Bluejays had a 9-2 shot advantage at halftime, including five shots on goal by the Bluejays in the opening 45 minutes.

The second half witnessed the Bluejays continue to control possession, with the Hoosiers attempting some desperation shots late in the contest to make the final shot count 15-9 in favor of the visitors.

Holt finished with four saves in the match, making one stop in the first half and three in the second half for his 35th career shutout and 46th career victory.  Holt now has eight solo shutouts on the season and has allowed just two goals through 993 minutes this fall.

Creighton will conclude its season-long four-game road trip when it opens Missouri Valley Conference play this Wednesday at Missouri State (3-5-2, 1-0-0 MVC).

NOTES: Creighton is now 4-3-0 all-time against Indiana, including 1-1-0 in Bloomington.  CU had not played against IU in Bloomington since an NCAA Tournament meeting on Nov. 27, 1994.
