FSU’s Campbell signs with Manchester City
Former Florida State defender Megan Campbell became one of the latest Division I players to sign overseas, joining Manchester City Women this week.
Campbell, who can both play as a left back and centrally, is an Irish international who was an integral part of Florida State’s 2014 national title winning side.
She made 60 appearances for the ACC side, scoring four goals and adding 31 assists.
"It's a bit surreal. I didn't expect to come here - it's a big club - but I'm up to the challenge," Campbell told mcfc.co.uk.
"I've just graduated and I was looking for a professional team. Fortunately enough, City came in for me and now I'm here.”
Campbell joins former Georgetown(w) star and U.S. U23 WNT international Daphne Corboz at Manchester City.
Currently in Abu Dhabi with the team for preseason, she has featured as a substitute in a pair of friendly wins over the past week, including a 3-0 defeat of Australian sister club Melbourne City Women.
