Georgia State signs four to NLIs

Bolstering a veteran squad, the Georgia State women's soccer team announced the signing of four incoming freshmen to National Letters of Intent Wednesday. The newcomers will add depth to a roster that features 10 returning starters.

"The coaching staff is extremely excited to announce the addition of these four ladies to our team,” head coach Derek Leader said. “They are all very talented and they all possess the ability to make an immediate impact on our squad.  We are looking forward to them joining our Panther family in the fall."

Monique Hundley

Four-year letterwinner at Acadiana High School in Scott, La. … Played primarily at midfielder and also at forward … Led team to back-to-back state championships while reaching the semifinals each of the past three seasons … All-state selection and a three-time all-district honoree … Selected to the west all-star team after senior campaign … Named NSCAA All-Region and voted District Offensive MVP as a junior … Travelled to Costa Rica and Italy with ODP Region team … Played club soccer for CSC/BRSC Alliance and Cajun Soccer Club … Member of the National Honor Society and Louisiana Girls All-State.

Monica Millard

Three-year letterwinner at Northview High School in Johns Creek, Ga. playing as a defender … Led team to the quarterfinals of the state championship the last two seasons … Served as team captain as a senior … After her junior season she was named all-region second team, DiVarsity All-Star and scholar athlete … As a sophomore started every game as a defensive midfielder … Played club soccer for Concorde Fire ECNL and helped team finish as state finalist twice … Served as yearbook editor and is a four-time member of the honor roll … Member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America.

Caitlin Ray

Four-year letterwinner at Loganville High School in Loganville, Ga. … Played primarily as a forward … As a junior was named first team all-region and was voted region player of the year … Was a second team all-region selection after her sophomore campaign … Scored more than 100 goals in her high school career and is the leading scorer for Loganville girl’s soccer … Played her club soccer for Atlanta Fire United and helped her team reach the 2011 Super Y Nationals … Was also named to the Super Y under-14 all-tournament team … Named to the honor roll three times and received three scholar-athlete awards.

Rachael Schultz

Four-year letterwinner at Ola High School in McDonough, Ga. … Played both in defense and midfield … As a junior was named all-region midfielder of the year, selected to the all-county second team and all-region team … Once scored a hat trick and recorded four assists in a single game … Played her club soccer for Concorde Fire, AFC 18U Lightning Elite and R3PLE … Led Concorde Fire to state cup in 2013 and helped AFC win the Atlanta Cup in 2014 … Member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, HOSA-Future Health Professionals and National Honor Society.
