After delivering the first standalone individual performance of the season, Missouri State star forward Fumiya Shiraishi is the men’s college soccer player of the week.

The Bears played just once over the opening weekend, and that was all the Japanese forward needed to score a program-record tying four goals to defeat a solid Seattle side 4-1. The goal-scoring outburst is a welcome development for a dynamic forward who scored five as an All-MVC second team selection last season.
