A new season of women's Division I college soccer begins on Thursday.

Florida State begins the 2019 season as the No. 1 side atop the TopDrawerSoccer.com Preseason Top 25 rankings. The Seminoles bring enough back to suggest back-to-back titles aren't a stretch.

Returning a stacked roster, national title challengers UCLA sit in second. The combination of returning talent like Jessie Fleming and Ashley Sanchez have been bolstered by the No. 2 recruiting class, which includes the transfer addition of Lucy Parker from LSU.

Checking into No. 3 are last year's national runners up North Carolina. Emily Fox and Brianna Pinto highlight the players back from the 2018 title game, while English youth national team attacker Alessia Russo is healthy heading into a new campaign.

Rounding out the top five are Stanford and Virginia, both major Division I programs with the capability of competing for a national title.
