TopDrawerSoccer is pleased to unveil the Spring High School Best XI, highlighting the top players from the latest prep soccer seasons. Only athletes from states that wrapped up the high school season in 2026 qualify for the list. The criteria used to evaluate the candidates considered several factors, including post-season honors, trophies won, individual accomplishments, impact on winning, and the difficulty level of the respective league and classification.

First Team Best XI

GK Lynley McCarley, Saltillo (Mississippi) - No goalkeeper dominated as much as McCarley this spring, leading the Tigers to a 24-4 Class 6A state title while conceding just five goals. Along with the 22 shutouts the senior earned, she also scored five goals and earned MVP in the 2-0 state final victory.

D Ava Steen, Unity Christian (Michigan) - Steen, a senior, was incredible this past season, leading a 24-0 Unity Christian squad that conceded just ONE goal. That marked a fourth consecutive state title for a team that is on a 55-game unbeaten run and has not conceded a postseason goal since 2022.

D Teagan Jahns, Lake Mary (Florida) - Doing it all for the Rams, Jahns led her team to the Florida 7A title by anchoring a backline that kept 17 shutouts in 23 matches, while also scoring 24 and assisting 11. That unmatched two-way dominance makes the senior a must-have inclusion on the first team.

D Adelyn Breaux, Kellam (Virginia) - Breaux completed an epic senior season by scoring the last goal in the 3-0 Virginia Class 5 victory. In all, Kellam was a perfect 23-0, fueled by the dominant defender and a backline that conceded just five goals and earned 19 clean sheets.

M Ella Dietz, Joe T. Robinson (Arkansas) - Having a USYNT talent on a high school team is a cheat code, and Dietz proved that with a ridiculously dominant freshman year. The 6-foot-tall midfielder led the Senators to a 19-1 Class 4A state title, scoring 45 and assisting 38, as no team had an answer for her prowess.

M Camryn Regier, Bethany (Oklahoma) - After making the second team last spring, Regier makes the best XI this year after leading the Bronchos to a successful title defense. The junior midfielder managed 52 goals and 10 assists and delivered a thrilling hat trick in a 4-2 state final victory.

M Ryleigh Stifflemire, Celina (Texas) - Texas has had some incredible ballers over the years, yet Stifflemire has something above them all as the first to repeat as the UIL state tournament MVP. Starring as a well-rounded holding midfielder, the senior led Celina to a 5th consecutive state title, another Texas first, while scoring five and delivering 13 assists.

M Maddie DiMaria, Cor Jesu Academy (Missouri) - The two-time Gatorade National Player of the Year was a guaranteed inclusion. In what is her final high school season, the junior scored 67 and assisted 25 to lead a 25-0 record in Missouri’s highest classification, leading the Chargers to a third consecutive trophy.

F Kiley Hawarah, St. Luke’s Episcopal (Alabama) - Going down as an Alabama high school soccer legend, Hawarah finished with 237 career goals, the second most in state history. The West Georgia commit also completed her Cinderella ending, scoring four in the state final to lead St. Luke’s to its first-ever title.

F Carsyn Broxterman, Hayden (Kansas) - While others can say they scored 28+ goals for a state champion, no one else in the country can say they scored in the semi-final to knock out a nine-time defending champion. Courtesy of ending one of the most dominant runs in American high school history, then scoring the lone goal to complete a 21-0 championship season, Broxterman is a must-have on the best XI.

F Grace Hays, Cody (Wyoming) - In one of the most absurd displays of athletic prowess in the country, Hays won Gatorade Wyoming Basketball Player of the Year honors, then produced a dominant state championship soccer season months later. The junior forward scored 44 goals, including an overtime winner in the state final, to lead the Fillies to the Wyoming 3A trophy.
